Masseria Moroseta
Masseria [mas-se-rì-a] / a fortified farmhouse found on the estates in the Puglia region and typically built in the 16th century.
Masseria Moroseta, surrounded by country roads and a blanket of olive trees, is a white stone farmhouse that stands proudly on a ridge overlooking the Adriatic sea and the white washed town of Ostuni. Built with local materials and traditional techniques, the modern architecture and design by the famed Andrew Trotter, founder of Openhouse Magazine, is influenced by the region’s masserie of the past. Immersed in five hectares of organically-run, centuries-old olive groves, the Masseria is a restful respite away from the hussle and its rural simplicity carries within itself the whole tradition of shapes and spaces of the most typical Apulian farmhouses: the blinding white, the sheltered courtyards, the arches, the cement tiles, the stone. All this is accompanied by respect and love for the environment, thanks to the energy of the sun and the use of modern sustainable building techniques.
Considering our love for architecture, design, and thoughtful curation, the organic simplicity and sustainability of this white haven among the olive trees was an easy choice. We are so honored to celebrate our love in a place as special as Masseria Moroseta. @masseriamoroseta
